What is Psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy is a collaborative conversation between a therapist and client, used to identify problems, set goals and develop a treatment plan to reach these goals. Our therapists are welcoming, caring, non-judgmental, and are there to help you work through changes.
At Evolve we create a safe space to help you organize your experiences, thoughts, attitudes and behaviours. We are here to help assist through life issues such as but not limited to; stress/anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, self-esteem issues, and addiction. We work with individuals, couples, families, and groups looking to bring about positive changes in core areas of life such as relationships, work, and health. Our focus is to guide you, at your pace, so you can regain and enjoy your mental health and wellbeing.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
The goal of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is to assist individuals in identifying and changing their ineffective or harmful thinking and behaviours. It will support you in replacing these with a more functional and helpful perspective. The concept is that our behaviours, thoughts, and emotions are all interconnected. Practiced either alone or in combination with other treatments, CBT is used to manage a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, and eating disorders. Through addressing cognitive distortions and changing behaviours, your emotions can be positively affected. This allows you to focus on a current problem and learn how to solve it.
Anger Solutions Therapy
We wouldn’t be human without our emotions. Anger is one that every person on the planet strongly encounters – Making it crucial we understand how to express it. There are typically three ways one expresses anger: aggressively, passively, or assertively. Through our Anger Solutions program, you will learn how to express your anger in a productive and meaningful way, which will improve relationships and your overall mental health.
